I am constantly ask: “When is the best time to go fishing?” We have basically four seasons that we fish, Cod and haddock, Founder, Striped Bass and Tuna.

Our season starts fishing for Cod and Haddock offshore to Stellwagen bank. Stellwagen bank is located off the coast of Massachusetts between Gloucester and Cape Cod. The cod season starts April 16th and runs until the end of October. The best times to book this trip are the entire month of May and the first two weeks of June. The summer months can also be good times to fish for Cod and haddock.

May 1st starts our Flounder trips. This is an inshore trip fishing around the Boston harbor islands as well as Quincy bay. We fish for flounder right through the end of June. This is a great trip to entertain your family as well a business clients. We offer half day and 3/4 day trips morning and afternoon for flounder.

Our most popular trip is Striped Bass and Bluefish. We start fishing for striped bass on May 11th this year. Fishing for Boston harbor striped bass is the sport fish of Massachusetts. We offer half day and 3/4 day trips for striped bass right through the end of September. The best times for this trip are May to September. The entire season is good with the 3/4 morning trips being the most productive. The bluefish don’t tend to show up until the end of June early July. Bluefish are a very strong fighting fish. Pound for pound they may be one of the toughest fishes in Boston Harbor. These trips are great for families, bachelor parties, birthday gifts and business trips. We offer half day and 3/4 day trips morning and afternoon.

Giant Bluefin Tuna is the big game fish in Massachusetts Bay. We start accepting booking for tuna around June 24th. This trip is the grand daddy of all trips we offer for the hearty fishers. Fishing for tuna is a full day trip that takes you offshore to Stellwagen Bank or beyond. It’s difficult to determine the best times to catch bluefin tuna. However, June through October are the best times to fish for them.
